Spider Web Cyanotype Printed Handmade Four-layer Mask

For catching different sorts of bugs....
These masks are made with real photographs of real spider webs. While spending all of my time at home the past year, I observed the beautiful spider webs in our windowsills. The light was just right, illuminating the webs --- so I captured them in a series of black and white pictures. I then layered the mask pattern on top of the spider web pictures to create my photo-negatives, which I would then use to sunprint on the mask fabric.
MADE TO ORDER. Sustainably made with sunprinting (cyanotype) on cotton. Printed outerlayer fabrics are reclaimed. Inside each mask is a double-layer of flannel for extra protection. FYI: like the majority of handmade masks, these are NOT medical grade.
***These masks tie UNDER the ear. Benefits of this style include:
+ Reduces/eliminates skin irritation (especially the ear irritation from long-term wearing)
+ Does not interfere with hearing aids
+ Does not interfere with glasses + sunglasses
+ Wearers can still wear earrings safely without tugging on jewelry
+ Mask can remain around neck when not in proximity to others; EASY to pull mask up onto face before entering closed space
Patterning will vary mask to mask -- all fabric is printed by the artist using different spider web patterns, so there are new patterns made with every printing. Each mask’s patterning is intended to have mirrored/symmetrical web patterns on either side, but there may be slight misalignments during sewing.
